Haybergill Centre Yoga Retreat, November 2022

14 December 2022

by Sharon Bailey

Well, it's that time of year again when we return to Haybergill for our winter retreat. This year it's about Letting Go.

Everyone arriving at the Yoga weekend had a lot on their minds. Thoughts about what's in store, apprehension about not knowing everyone or anybody, finances, relationships, or just a desire to achieve a certain something or be a certain someone!!!!

Sometimes when we have all this going through our minds in this racing way we find we are stressed, distracted and unfocused. The weekend was planned to bring all this into account and through our fire pit session, relaxation practice, Yoga and our gong baths we were able to release the tension and stress not only from our minds but our physical bodies too – We LET GO!!!!!!!!!!

Letting go takes a lot of courage. It takes faith and most of all it takes trust – I feel totally blessed and humbled during our weekends that my yogis trust me to take them on and be part of their journeys and with my comforting and supportive words we Let go!!!!! Through every struggle, we accessed strength, balance and steadiness and by the end of the weekend, we completely let go and surrendered ourselves we found strength and balance together and achieved Salamba Sirsasana (Headstand) It was a very emotional and proud time for each and every one. All the obstacles disappeared and we created space becoming more engaged and connected with our inner wisdom and truths.

I have two similar weekend retreats planned already next year. Spring and Autumn dates are confirmed and open to booking through my shop. I hope you will join us.

Namaste till the next time.

Why is Mental Health Important for Overall Health?

According to the Mayo Clinic, mental health is our overall wellness in terms of how we think, and regulate our feelings and behaviours. When people experience a significant disturbance in the way they function, psychologically they may be suffering from poor mental health. What many do not realize is that when we struggle without mental health it can have a notable knock-on effect in our aspects of out lives. Conditions such as depression, anxiety and chronic stress can damage us in more ways than simply mental anguish. This is why it is vital to pay close attention to our mental health.
